Arthur Langerman Collection
Arthur Langerman is a Belgian Jewish collector who has a collection of about 7,000 documents, posters, newspapers or artifacts on the theme of Antisemitism.
His 2017 exhibition, “1886-1945, Heinous Cartoons or the Antisemitic Corrosion“, which travelled the world, showcased part of this exceptional collection.
With EUPJ Brussels’ focus on Antisemitism in many of its projects and partnerships, working with Arthur to fight antisemitism has been an important part of the programme.
In part, due to the work of EUPJ Brussels, the German government has donated millions of euros to house Arthur’s collection, which is now in TU Berlin’s Center for Research on Antisemitism. The collection will be known as The Arthur Langerman Archive for Research on Visual Anti-Semitism (ALAVA).
